I've always had good intentions to carve pumpkins as a family but it always seemed like we were to busy so we would just end up painting them. This year the boys are old enough that I thought we'd try the real deal. They loved it. It took them a long time cleaning out the guts (which We didn't mind at all;) Then McKay and I helped them with the rest.
Andrew didn't like the smell at first at all but he still cleaned it all out without complaining. They both worked really hard to get all the guts, and "nuts" as they call them, out. It was hard work but they did it together and stayed on task getting the job done.
I asked them both what their favorite thing about there pumpkin was Andrew said " I like when it glowed." Carter said "I like about the smiley face and everything."
McKay and I love the boys so much. They make us laugh. Especially when they're tucked in bed and we're reminiscing about the day reenacting the funny things done and said. This was such a fun way to spend time with them. I think that we will be carving pumpkins every year!
These last pictures are of crafts that were from fun church activities but just got put away for a couple months(the picture block) or a year (the Halloween blocks)nobody has done that before right:) I just thought I'd show ya what I worked on this weekend.

Those pumpkin carving aren't even good. You should see what I can do with a butchers knife and a chainsaw!! Actually, Andrew and Carter did an o.k. job.
Looks like fun. We love to carve pumpkins and try to make a party of it with goblin cupcakes and spooky stuff. I also love this time of year it is my absolute favorite. We need to get the kids together before this baby comes.
